The free agency frenzy began during the NHL’s offseason.
The Predators, along with several other teams, made a few signings before the market officially opened at 11 a.m. With cap space up by $1 million from last season, many teams have been forced to make tough decisions.
Nashville got off to a good start before the market opened and recently acquired veteran defenseman Ryan McDonagh in exchange for two prospects, defenseman Philippe Myers and forward Grant Mismash. The team also agreed to an extension for Filip Forsberg on an eight-year, $68 million contract.

June 24: Cody Glass, one year, $874,125 contract.
July 9th : Filip Forsberg, contract of 68 million dollars over eight years.
July 13 (market opening)
Jeremy Lauzon, four-year, $8 million deal
Jimmy Huntington, a one-year, two-way deal worth $750,000 at NHL level and $80,000 at the minors
Devin Cooley, two-year entry contract
