2022 NBA free agency rumours: Live updates as Zach Lavine, Bulls agree on max deal; savvy Celtics make moves


The 2021-22 season and the NBA draft are both on the books, and now all eyes are on the start of free agency. The speculation and rumors surrounding free agency is what makes this time of year so entertaining. This summer may not have some of the biggest names available in the free agent market, but the offseason will remain eventful. A few hours before the official launch of free agency, Kevin Durant asked for a trade away from the Brooklyn Nets. One of the NBA’s biggest superstars is now set to switch teams this summer, and KD’s trade request will no doubt impact how teams handle their off-season business.

NBA free agency began Thursday at 6 p.m. ET, when teams were able to begin negotiating deals with players. However, the contracts will not be truly official until the moratorium period is lifted on July 6. . Zach LaVine (Bulls) and Bradley Beal (Wizards) have both agreed to max offers to return to their respective teams. The Knicks took a step forward by acquiring Jalen Brunson. Additionally, the Eastern Conference champion Celtics improved after making a successful trade to land Pacers guard Malcolm Brogdon, and are also expected to sign Danilo Gallinari.
